CONGREGATION BETH SHALOM of the BLUE HILLS

“Building Now and for the Future”

ISRAEL UPDATE-Nancy Mollitor

Highlight #3 from my trip to Israel: shopping. I am not usually much of a shopper, but I wanted to bring back some souvenirs as well as help support the local Israeli economy. We had so many different and unique shopping experiences. From the shuk in the Old City where you NEVER pay the full amount, to the brand new Mamilla Mall right outside the Jaffa Gate with all the American brand stores (where you ALWAYS pay the full amount). From the Carmel Market in Tel Aviv which sells mostly food and household items and every vendor has “the best price” to Neve Tzedek, a stylish yuppie Tel Aviv area with many galleries and designer shops that had no price tags at all (if you have to ask…..). We experienced them all and those are just a few of the many wonderful places to shop and explore. Even if you are not a shopper, just walking through these places allows you to feel like a local, an experience you don’t want to miss!
