“Building Now and for the Future”
When It Doesn’t Make Sense To Argue

The synagogue building project is going fast and furious and with that our committees are deep in decision making mode:  floor tile, kitchen cabinets, counter tops, Ark and Eternal Light design, paint colors…the list goes on and frankly after awhile it’s exhausting.  But through it all one thing we keep in mind is a lesson taught by one of my favorite rabbinic sayings that translates “on taste and smell, you can’t argue”.  In other words, when dealing with aesthetics, it is all a matter of personal taste.  There is no right or wrong, so there is no sense in arguing.  What I can promise you is that we work toward getting a group consensus that is within budget and reflects our shul’s personality of being unpretentious, informal and warmhearted.  Shabbat Shalom, RabbiB

“Visit & Tour” Jerusalem Right Now!

To commemorate the saddest day in the Jewish calendar, Tisha B’Av, view this excellent 3 minute video (below) to get a sense of the grandeur that was the Second Temple.  FYI – because the 9th of Av falls on Shabbat this year, the fast and other observances begin after sundown on Saturday night the 10th of Av.

PS – On Saturday night at 7:00 we will be joining with Ahavath Torah in Stoughton for Mincha, Ma’riv and the reading of Eicha, the Book of Lamentations.
