THIS WEEK AT CONGREGATION BETH SHALOM of the BLUE HILLS
CAPITAL CAMPAIGN DONATION CHALLENGE!!!
In the true spirit of the New Year, a few very generous donors to our Capital Campaign have offered to increase their pledge by $18,000 collectively if we get at least that much in pledges over the next few weeks.  That means your donation will go twice as far!!!
Please be as generous as you are able to help us reach our goal.  The remainder needed to raise is just under $600,000–woo hooo!!!
Thanks so much in advance, and Shana Tova.

A BRIEF THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
A BRIEF JEWISH  THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

We are Not the Moon, but…
Though it was fascinating to watch, the moon did not ask to be cast in darkness / red the other night.  For that matter, it does not ask to bask in the sun’s rays thus permitting us a waxing, waning or full view.  Forces outside the moon permit its glow.  While we humans also gain energy (both positive and negative) from those around us, our main energy source is from within so much so that, like an eclipse, should unasked for external forces darken our aura, with time our inner light will reemerge.  That vibrant re-lit soul may take longer than we want or hope for, but because our source is internal, the Jewish perspective is that it is a given.  “The Lord…blew into man’s nostrils the breath of life (nishmat chayyim) and man became a living being.”  (Gen 2:7)  Shabbat Shalom & Chag Sameach, RabbiB

 ISRAEL UPDATE

—————————————————————————————————————DONATE DONATE YOUR CAR TODAY!

Congregation Beth Shalom of the Blue Hills has partnered with CARS (Charitable Adult Rides & Services) to offer an exciting new way to donate to our Capital Campaign, by donating a car, boat, or other motorized vehicle. It’s simple to do. Just visit www.donatingiseasy.org or call 855-500-RIDE (7433). Tell them you would like to donate your vehicle on behalf of Congregation Beth Shalom of the Blue Hills and they will do the rest, including picking up your vehicle and sending you a receipt for the amount it was sold for after the sale has been complete. We get most of the funds from every transaction and you get a tax deduction, a real win/win. This is available to us on a nationwide basis, so please spread the word to your family and friends and consider donating today.
