Sisterhoods are the ideal organization to offer Synagogue women personal experiences such as the companionship of other women, training for future leadership and pride in achievement on behalf of their Temple.

At Beth Shalom of the Blue Hills our Sisterhood women enhance the Synagogue with their time, effort, energy and dedication.

To enable us to donate funds to our congregation on a yearly basis, Sisterhood does the following:

  • Holds interesting Sunday Afternoon programming.
  • Sponsors Sisterhood Shabbats
  • Creates the Congregation’s bulletin, under the direction of our editor.
  • Supports all functions planned by the Beth Shalom Community
  • Does fundraising:
    • Donor Dinner
    • Brunch/fashion show
    • Cakeless cake sale or write in rummage sale
    • The Yom Tov scroll
    • Secures advertising to defray the cost of our Temple Bulletin.

Sisterhood is open to all women of Congregation Beth Shalom of the Blue Hills – It is never too late to join. Come to an event, bring a friend, make a friend, have some fun!

Every year, the Sisterhood honors a woman for all the volunteer work she does for the Temple and for the community.  Previously called “Light of Torah” and now called “Woman of Achievement”, past recipients are:
